It didn't take me long to discover that my Poodles' bad behaviors were ruining relationship. I started hunting for a good, reliable dog trainer to help me put things in perspective.
I found that many dog trainers invited me into the classroom to check out their training techniques. Once I was in the class environment, I was also able to talk freely with other dog owners about what they had achieved since training there.
After hearing some horror stories, I knew how a bad trainer could ruin a potentially great Poodle. I didn't want my dog forced to do anything he didn't feel at ease with or because he was scared of being physically reprimanded.
When I finally did find the right trainer, it was love at first sight! She was kind and had a love for training dogs that couldn't be beat. We had fun in her class and looked forward to it every week.

Choosing Poodle puppy names is the same process that new parents of human babies go through. Thus, the new parent or parents of a Poodle puppy should consider a name that applies to personality of the dog.
A baby name book can be used when you want a standard Poodle puppy name. These books will have names available that would be suitable to use as Poodle puppy names.
When there are suitable names suggested and compiled into a list, then everyone can take a vote on this list, resulting in a suitable name. If you live along, spend some time observing the Poodle puppy to determine what its new name should be.
Hopefully to something your dog can remember easily. Keep dog names to one or two syllables so that your dog is not confused.

I think it is just as important to care for my Poodles teeth and gums a sit is to care for my own dental hygiene. I have found wonderful busy bones that provide a healthy treat as well as assist in dental care. I also make sure that he has an ample amount of bones and chew toys to exercise his jaws and teeth on.
However, brushing my Poodles teeth is by far the best protection for his mouth I can give.
When first starting to brush your Poodles teeth, use specially formulated dog toothpaste and begin slowly. It is helpful to use a child size toothbrush or even one that can slide onto your finger. Brush for only a few seconds and gradually increase the duration over several weeks.
Not only does proper canine dental hygiene improve the quality of life for your Poodle, it also reinforces the bond of trust you share as dog and owner.

Having an aged pet is something you cant avoid. Taking care of your Poodle as he ages is something you have to do.
Taking the time to rub his shoulder joints or his stomach will make your dog feel better and it works well for yourself.
Getting in and out of your vehicle will become very difficult for your Poodle. Build or buy a ramp or some other way for your dog to still ride with you.
There is nothing you can do about your dog getting older. What you can do is to be his best friend while he goes through the process.

Car travel with your Poodle can be fun but it can also be frustrating and complicated. There is a lot to think about before taking the trip.
You have to consider that your dog will probably need to use the bathroom more than you. You don't want to try and guess when he is being serious.
Car travel with your Poodle means that when you stop somewhere you have to be responsible for him. If you travel alone with your dog, you have to really plan ahead at the rest stops.
You will have to decide whether or not you will put him in a hauler or let him roam freely throughout the car.

It seems to me that what goes into the Poodle has a direct effect on what comes out of the Poodle. So, finding the right diet to fieed your Poodle should be more than just a case of trial and error. I have again turned to researching online for more information about dog foods.
I wasn't going to use the ultraexpensive food the breeder recommended, I simply couldn't afford to have the dog eating better than Mike and I. So I found some guidelines to help me choose a healthy alternative.
Check for one or more named meats in the first few ingredients. Look for whole foods in the ingredient listings (corn not corn gluten meal).
Avoid artificial colors, flavors, chemical preservatives, added sugars or artificial sweeteners and avoid unnamed animal sources (i.e. animal fat, meat, bone meal etc.).

I needed to figure out what you need to groom your Poodle in order to be sure that my baby's coat was in good condition at all times. What I found was that for daily or maintenance grooming all I really needed was a good quality bristle brush.
I made it part of our daily routine to give him a full body brushing and massage. This lets me check the dirtiness of his coat and look for signs of fleas or other parasites.
I think he likes the touching and brushing too. He stands very still and lets me get every inch of his skin.
There are times when upon completion of the brushing there is a huge pile of dead hair. I'm sure it feels good to him to have all that off his skin.

Today we pick up my darling little Poodle puppy. He is finally old enough to leave his mother and join our family. I'm very excited. . It has been a whirlwind of activity to prepare for our Poodle puppy. Mike and I have been going through the house room by room to make sure things are puppy safe. We have secured cords to lamps and made sure that there is nothing at his level that he could either chew through or knock off.
Just like having a toddler running through the house, I have put all the breakables up out of puppy reach.
In addition, I have put all the cleaning supplies up and in a locked cupboard so they can't accidentally be left out where he can get into them during a moment of curiosity.
Some common houseplants may be toxic to pets. I am not sure if mine are part of that list. So, I have chosen to give most of them away. Better safe than sorry!
